On December 13, 2018 it became known that the traffic police bought and sent 21.7 thousand tablet computers equipped with the special software for determination of the identity of the person according to the photo to regions.
The software product is made in such a way that we can already photograph the driver and to see unloading of information on it, his history, all questions which are shown it at traffic — the Kommersant newspaper quotes the chief of traffic police Mikhail Chernikov. |
Software compares the taken picture to the picture which is included in the database of traffic police when the driver is photographed when receiving the rights. After recognition of the personality the inspector understands with whom he communicates. By December, 2018 such technology is tested, Chernikov noted.
The traffic police at the same time noted that in department have no all information about drivers, in particular medical contraindications to control of transport or data on accounting in narcological clinics.
We have no right of access to such data today and we cannot influence participation of such people in traffic. It becomes dangerous — Mikhail Chernikov reported. |
As the newspaper notes, the traffic police asks the Ministry of Health to create several years the corresponding electronic register, but so far it is not made. Chernikov hoped that departments will find a common denominator and will be able to build the correct relationship.
Earlier the traffic police announced plans of gradation for electronic driver's documents — the rights, STS and PTS. In 2019 the traffic police will decide, in particular, on a format of electronic car driver licenses, Mikhail Chernikov said. Electronic PTS are already registered, about 20 cars with such passports are already registered by December, 2018.[1]
