Huawei revenges Japan which refused its equipment, having ceased to buy from it robots

On December 13, 2018 it became known of failure of Huawei Technologies to buy industrial robots from the Japanese company Yaskawa Electric. Cooperation was stopped, most likely, in revenge for the solution of the Japanese mobile operators to replace the equipment of Huawei with solutions of other producers.

According to the Bloomberg agency with reference to the president of Yaskawa Hiroshi Ogasawara, the company faced freezing of all orders from Huawei.

My people, the events which are in places in China, say that at Huawei everything turned over upside down. All types of capital transactions are temporarily suspended while they understand — Ogasawara said.

The fact that Huawei ceased to purchase Yaskawa products became known after the Japanese authorities excluded the equipment of the Chinese company from state procurements, and the chief mobile operators refused to buy solutions of Huawei for future 5G networks and decided to remove them from the unrolled LTE networks.

Industrial Yaskawa robots

The representative of Huawei in a conversation with the edition noted that decisions on purchase of industrial equipment were made several months ago.

Huawei cannot interfere with the decisions made by other supply chain partners including the companies with which we have arrangements on outsourcing — he noted.

Yasakawa has three plants in China where products are generally made for the Chinese clients. The market of Celestial Empire of the company generated about 23% of revenue according to the results of the financial year which came to the end in February of the 2018th calendar.

According to Hiroshi Ogasawara, freezing of orders forces Yaskawa to review the forecast for demand for a 5G phones and the communication equipment because Huawei was implementations of technology in the forefront.^[1]
