2018: Panic Button release
On December 13, 2018 the CyberYozh security group company announced Panic Button release – programs for the emergency destruction of digital data on computers under Windows. Any penetration into the computer, whether it be secret gaining access by the colleague or information extraction by law enforcement officers, starts immediate and irreversible destruction of data.
According to the developer, this program is intended for all who want to protect confidential information from unauthorized access or the criminalistic analysis. Journalists, entrepreneurs, officials and politicians and also normal users who are afraid of the attacks of cybercriminals treat this category, according to developers.
CyberYozh emphasized that Panic Button can be activated as actions of the user (click on a label or clicking of a combination of the preset keys), and automatically – in the mode of a logical bomb. The user sets a certain action which non-performance leads to destruction of confidential data in settings of the program. Thus, the logical bomb will work if access to the computer is got secretly or compulsorily.
Panic Button is able to destroy urgently data on activity of the user in the operating system: information on the last browsed documents, images and the started programs. Also data on activity in network – history and a cache of the browser, cookies, a tab and the saved passwords are destroyed. The program works with all popular browsers: Chrome, Mozilla, Opera, Edge and Yandex.Browser, claim in CyberYozh.
Besides, in CyberYozh noted what at activation of Panic Button destroys any files specified in settings of the program. If desired the user can configure sending email notifications about operation of the program.
