Accenture helped Carlsberg to perform migration of IT infrastructure in a public cloud

On December 14, 2018 the Accenture company announced carrying out the project on migration of IT infrastructure of Carlsberg in a public cloud. The project is performed within strategy for transformation of brewing group in the modern digital-enterprise: "smart" production with the high level of digital coherence of divisions.

The project allowed Carlsberg to receive the modern, dynamic and flexible platform for deployment of corporate IT solutions which will help to increase transparency IT and business processes of the company.

Corporate strategy of Carlsberg of "SAIL '22" is directed to improvement of quality of digital trunking between the company, consumers of its products, participants of a supply chain and own employees. Strategy is also intended to provide growth of profitability of business of the company and also increase in its share in the market.

Accenture and Avanade companies together with Microsoft and SAP performed the project on migration of basic (core) IT infrastructure of Carlsberg and also applications, crucial for its business, in a public cloud of Microsoft Azure less than in 6 months. Process demanded transfer the 150th terabyte of data on 600 servers and 200 applications (including all application package of SAP) servicing work more than 10,000 employees.

For December, 2018 Carlsberg already received the first business results of migration: stability of work of IT systems improved, there was more flexible and sympathetic IT infrastructure which gives the chance to scale resources as quickly as that is required by a situation for decrease in operating costs. It allows to release the capital and resources necessary for investments into the growing directions of business. The Azure platform helps Carlsberg and its partners to accelerate implementation of the innovations created based on artificial intelligence and also using analytical platforms or within the concept of DevOps. For example, the company started the Carrie project – the chat-bot which employees can address 24/7 for consultations on all questions connected with rules of a security system.
