GE Healthcare delivered 200 devices of ultrasonic diagnostics to Uzbekistan

The GE Healthcare company completed delivery of 200 devices of self-produced ultrasonic diagnostics for the purpose of equipment of 196 offices of prenatal diagnostics of district and city multi-profile clinics of the Republic of Uzbekistan for expansion of access for the population to screening services, reported on December 15, 2018 in the National agency of project management at the President of Uzbekistan. The cost of the supplied equipment does not reveal.

As it is specified, project implementation became the next step within strategic partnership of GE Healthcare and the Ministry of Health of the republic, the agreement on which the parties signed in the USA in May, 2018.

It is expected that thanks to approved by the President of the country the State program of early detection of congenital and hereditary diseases at children for the period from 2018 to 2022 the purchased medical equipment of GE company will serve implementation of tasks of carrying out mass ultrasonic inspection of women at an early stage of pregnancy.

Direct deliveries of the hi-tech equipment from manufacturing plant were executed within the contract signed with the state enterprise O'zmedimpeks with assistance of the National agency of project management at the President of Uzbekistan.

GE Healthcare will also provide multi-stage training medical and technicians of clinics for the purpose of providing for effective and safe use of the equipment. Trainings and seminars will take place both in workplaces, and on the platform of training center of the company in Tashkent which discovery is planned for the beginning of 2019. Besides, the company will provide maintenance of the equipment and its maintenance in good repair based on own service center which start will also take place in 2019.

According to the National agency of project management, GE Healthcare for many years is an active project participant on upgrade of a health care system of Uzbekistan, including on equipment of medical institutions the hi-tech diagnostic equipment and to development of educational programs for doctors and X-ray laboratory assistants.^[1]
