2018: Appointment of SoftwareONE as the head

In December, 2018 SoftwareONE announced Dieter Schlosser's appointment the new CEO instead of Patrick Winter who died several months before.

Before heading SoftwareONE, Shlosser held a post of the global operating officer in the company and was responsible for issues of transformation. He will officially enter a position of the CEO on January 1, 2019.

According to the chairman of the board of directors of SoftwareONE Daniel von Stockar, "there is no person better", than Dieter Schlosser who would control a company merger from the competing Comparex.

On the next stage of development and integration with Comparex Dieter introduces the correct combination of talent, technical and strategic knowledge and also skills of leadership to bring SoftwareONE to new level. Dieter was the recognized leader with foresight and ability to lead thanks to what SoftwareONE turned from the global company which is engaged in sale of the software and management of licenses into the world leader in the field of platforms, solutions and services — Daniel von Stokar said.

The former head of SoftwareONE Patrick Vinter who founded the company in 1985 died at the end of June, 2018 two weeks later after heart attack. According to employees, this news very much shocked all who work in SoftwareONE.

Each employee around the world met him. He often traveled and visited all 80 subsidiary companies at least once a year. He discussed core values, the vision and the plan with each employee. We are more similar to his family. It is the end of an era — one of employees of SoftwareONE told the CRN edition.

Dieter Schlosser noted that the company endured the huge tragedy, but "the command showed surprising firmness in this tough time".^[1]
