2017: EverGIS implementation
Prerequisites
Process of mastering of the water area of internal sea waters, the territorial sea, continental shelf and exclusive economic zone of the Russian Federation is more and more intensive in recent years. At the same time design and construction of different constructions, installations and carrying out drilling operations is performed. The complex of geotechnical works and also the subsequent extraction and transportation of raw materials require permanent multidimensional hydrometeorological monitoring of water areas, it is necessary to consider and analyze a big pool of information - meteorological, oceanographic, navigation. Accomplishment of such analysis by specialists (research associates) often happens in several separate systems that can lead to data loss, to the low speed of decision making, to complication of process of the analysis of diverse data sets.
Studying of features of water areas and implementation of monitoring allows to obtain the most complete information about possible geological dangers and to minimize risks during the carrying out drilling operations and construction of sea wells. The solution of this kind of tasks is impracticable without development of the innovative technologies in the field of geoinformatics and emergence in the market specialized by GIS systems.
Course and results of the project
The Everpoint company developed and implemented the EverGIS platform in JSC Institute of Ecological Design and Researches (IEPI) for monitoring of carrying out drilling operations on the shelf of the Barents, Karsky, Okhotsk seas.
Enter into structure of a complex of the works performed by the staff of IEPI:
- monitoring, forecasting of development and control of an ice situation;
- identification of hydrocarbon pollution and determination of a potential source.
The EverGIS system allowed to analyze moving of potentially dangerous ice objects (icebergs, large ice floes) to the spring and autumn period, to model their drift and to create the action plan on security of the drilling rig and also to monitor abnormal floods in the form of film pollution of hydrocarbon origin throughout the entire period of carrying out drilling operations.
Treat basic functions of a system:
- collecting, processing and analysis of space data;
- providing web access to space data;
- ensuring operational formation and mailing of reporting materials.
A system is in development and active operation by the staff of IEPI. It allows to reveal errors in classification and methodologies.
