On December 24, 2018 Sberbank announced service of insurance of bank cards upon cyberincidents. The credit institution will indemnify loss in case of unauthorized contactless payments from smartphones of clients or because of device infection with malware.

According to the press service of Sberbank, an insurance from cyberincidents is included in a packet "Protection of the card +" which costs from 1290 rubles a year. The insurance sum within which the bank is ready to pay compensation can reach 350 thousand rubles. Purchased this insurance product additional service — free installation on smartphones of the protective solution of Kaspersky Lab is provided.

Sberbank the first in Russia began to insure bank cards against cyberincidents

Sberbank claims that in the Russian market the service in insurance of cyberrisks for natural persons is offered for the first time. The insurance is automatically provided to owners of smartphones on the IOS platform. What has a mobile phone on the Android platform it is necessary to set the special protective solution.

For installation of an antivirus on the device it is necessary to activate the policy on the website of Sberbank Insurance company and to download the program, having entered the code which the insurer will send to the client in the Sms.

In addition to protection against cyber attacks, bank cards are insured against plunders, damages, demagnetization, loss because of faulty operation of the ATM and unauthorized write-off of money for various reasons. Sberbank also promises to compensate to the client an amount of money if to rob him at the ATM.

It is noted that for the first week after start of sales in Sberbank branches about 170 thousand policies "Protection of the card +" were issued. The insurance can be purchased at all offices of bank.[1]

In 2018 Kaspersky Lab reflected about 404 million cyber attacks, from them nearly 5 million harmful setup packages in mobile devices.
