The announcement of the domestic platform based on Baikal-T1 and Viola OS

The companies BaseALT, Baikal Electronics also "Hamster robotiks Engineering" combined efforts for development of "the first the Russian platform industrial computers" as a part of which — ADP equipment on the basis of processor BE-T1000 (Baikal-T1) and operating systems "Viola" for servers and workstations. Initial sales volume is planned at the level from 1 thousand computers a month; a task for the next 2 years — to increase it to 10 thousand a month. The initial cost of the hardware-software solution will be from 35 thousand rubles, representatives Hamster Robotiks specified TAdviser.

According to representatives of the company, Baikal-T1 processors will provide the high performance and stability of operation of the industrial high-loaded computers which can be operated in adverse conditions of production premises. In turn, operating systems of the Viola family will create a safe environment for work with corporate data at the expense of the built-in information security tools. The BaseALT creating Viola has licenses of FSTEC for activities for development and production of means of protecting of confidential information and also for activities for technical confidential information protection (reg. No. 1612 and 3025 of September 16, 2016). Developers are sure that these products will find broad application on the domestic enterprises imposing high requirements to reliability and security of components of IT infrastructure and interested in import substitution program implementation.

Pavel Krivozubov,Robotics artificial intelligence the head "and" Skolkovo Foundation, emphasized the importance of implementation of this project within the program of ensuring technology independence and development of the Russian segment of industrial computers which can be applied in different innovative developments in the industry and other spheres.

Heads of Hamster Robotiks Engineering, Roman Burmistrov and Wêadysêaw Stein, expressed confidence in successful development of the project as the joint product, according to them, not only solves problems of migration from foreign program and hardware on domestic, but also has competitive advantages — such as price and reliability. Roman Burmistrov also told that the Viola operating systems and will be used further in other developments Hamster Robotiks based on processors "Elbrus" and "Baikal".

In general the BaseALT, Hamster Robotiks Engineering and Baikal Electronics intend to expand further a range of joint hardware-software solutions and to provide their compatibility with the Russian diversified software.

Beginning of production

On January 18, 2019 the Hamster Robotiks company reported that T1 started production of industrial computers based on Baikal.

Industrial computer

According to the company, the computer is intended for work in severe conditions and has protection on class IP65. It is possible to use this device in different industrial spheres.

The team of engineers Hamster Robotiks used own industrial computer in the project of creation of the collaborative HR-03 robot. Thus, the device already passed test and is ready to mass production, emphasized in the company.
