The equipment of Roche will help the Center for fight to reveal HIV about AIDS of Astana

On January 22, 2019 there was information that in the Center for prevention and fight about AIDS of akimat of Astana the building block system of Roche Cobas 4800 intended for the automated processing of samples for quantitative determination of the RNA nucleinic acids of VICh-1 virus by the PTsR method (polymerase chain reaction) is installed. According to representatives of the center, a system will allow to increase quality of researches due to full automation of technology process of accomplishment of the analysis.

Cobas 4800 represents a combination of two modules devices of automatic sample preparation of Cobas h480 and the Cobasz 480 analyzer "real time of PTsR" of the analyzer for amplification and detection by PTsR method.

As explained in the center, a system is purchased within the reagent agreement. According to the chief physician of the AIDS Center Sabit Abdraimov, acquisition of the expensive equipment is, first of all, a possibility of use of the advanced automated technology for determination of RNA of a human immunodeficiency virus. Besides, the center will be able to save budget funds as the Cobas 4800 system is provided with a free technical support.

It is expected that application of building block system will allow to implement the Global purposes of YuNEYDS (UNAIDS) "90-90-90" regarding achievement of suppressed virus loading and efficiency of treatment. The staff of laboratory was trained in a technique of work and accomplishment of researches at this equipment by the specialists of Roche company who arrived from Turkey.

In 2019 the AIDS Center of Astana is going to purchase one more item of equipment.^[1]
