Rostelecom will replace street lamps and will install the system of automated management of lighting in Volzhsk

On January 22, 2019 Rostelecom reported that it will replace street lamps and will install the system of automated management of lighting in the city of Volzhsk of the Republic of Mari El. The power service contract is signed with city administration based on the tender.

Until the end of March, 2019 on streets of Volzhsk there will be 2179 LED lamps consuming several times less electricity in comparison with sodium and mercury lamps. The implemented management system for lighting will allow to regulate an operation mode of lamps depending on time of day or weather conditions.

The solution on upgrade of city street lighting is developed turnkey: from design before implementation. It is the investment project of Rostelecom calculated on five years. The company will service a system, and to return investments due to power saving. Upon termination of the contract the saved means will remain in the budget of Volzhsk. Energy-saving technologies will allow to make streets of Volzhsk is lighter and it is safer. The project will cut down expenses of municipality on electricity to 75%, and operating costs – up to 45%.
