On February 4, 2019 the Rostec company reported that specialists of the Novosibirsk Instrument-making Plant (NIMP) took part in work of task force on replacement of a projection equipment of Big Novosibirsk planetarium. In its main hall laser projectors are set.

According to the company, instead of the projectors of lamp type which developed a resource in Big Novosibirsk planetarium modern laser projectors of the next generation with the resolution of 4K UHD are placed. The equipment creates a projection of the star sky, fulldome thematic videos and movies. In total on perimeter of the basis of a dome of the Star hall six devices are mounted.
