In August, 2018 the company ABM Cloud completed the project on implementation warehouse management systems ABM WMS in the company "M-Logistik".

Prior to the beginning of the project, on some part of a warehouse the basic functionality of WMS of own development implemented on a core of the accounting system was used. Over time it ceased to satisfy requirements on effective processing of fast-growing loads of a warehouse. Own development did not provide enough opportunities for monitoring and optimization of activity of a warehouse, and any completion was brought into operation long time. In other territory processes were constructed through work on paper carrier that led to long processing of the detected shortages and defects and also an excess excessive consumption of paper.

Among other problems in "M-Logistik" noted:

  • Dependence on employees who understand goods and places of its storage.
  • Non-optimal placement of goods. The high-wrapped goods are stored in locations, remote from a shipment zone.
  • Lack of process of consolidation of trade inventories.
  • Fair quantity of claims from clients concerning the detected shortages and resorts allowed in the course of a complete set of orders.

For problem solving the company management of M-Logistik LLC, selected warehouse management system ABM WMS.

Tasks which were set by the customer for a project team:

  • Full automation and optimization of basic processes in a warehouse (acceptance, placement, a complete set, inventory of goods, etc.).
  • The automated carrying out ABC analysis on goods.
  • Instrument of consolidation of warehouse stocks.
  • Program accounting of expiration dates.
  • Increase in rates of order processing.
  • Reduction of influence of a human factor by formation of shortages and resorts.
  • Inventory without stopping warehouse.
  • Possibility of use of strongly outdated data collection terminals (DCT), available, for reduction of expenses on purchase of new devices.
  • Control of activity of personnel in real time.
  • Billing of the main transactions and transactions which are executed when processing transit loads.
  • Analytics block.
  • WMS system scaling option under fast-growing requirements of the company.

Process of preparation before a project startup included the next stages:

  1. Обследование warehouse processes with the subsequent drawing up Technical specifications and its approval of key staff from the customer.
  2. Доработка the software solution ABM WMS for satisfaction of the requirements revealed during inspection.
  3. Разработка the tool with the WEB INTERFACE for suppliers, for the purpose of registration by them of transit cargo places and the subsequent accounting of billing of transactions at their processing in a warehouse with the help of data collection terminals.
  4. Адаптация the software of "ABM WMS MobileClient" for use on outdated data collection terminals.
  5. Параметризация and the software configuration "ABM WMS" on the basis of approved Technical specifications.
  6. Настройка equipment: personal computers, data collection terminals, thermal printers.
  7. Проведение training courses on work with software "ABM WMS" and "ABM WMS MobileClient".


Project Results:

  • Full automation of work of a warehouse and failure from work with the help of paper carrier of information for benefit of the shipping documentation.
  • Use of strategy of placement of goods for automatic calculation, expected storage locations taking into account "ABC" and "Categories of goods".
  • Planning of orders in work taking into account priority of shipments.
  • Consolidation of different orders by one partner in "The super order" for minimization of process of a complete set.
  • Automatic fixing of the detected shortages, defects, excesses in the course of acceptance, complete sets, movements and placements, with the subsequent creation of tasks for carrying out planned inventories on problem goods.
  • Difficult algorithms for process management of replenishment and consolidation of trade inventories are implemented.
  • The strategy of automatic distribution of tasks between employees on the basis of loading of the warehouse zones assigned to them are implemented.
  • The distributed consolidation of collected orders depending on a shipment document type.
  • Automatic creation of tasks for replenishment of goods under requirements of shipment.

In 1.5 months from the moment of project completion the following results were achieved:

  • individual speed of a complete set of the order grew on – 25%
  • the general time spent for processing of a daily portion of shipment documents decreased on – 40%
  • processing speed of deliveries grew on – 30%
  • the number of processings of employees in days of peak loads decreased on – 20%
  • reduction of staff on – 15%

Representatives of M-Logistik company noted that according to the results of the project:

  • The effective management of a human resource increased (billing).
  • Transparency and controllability of the performed works at all stages (from assembly before shipment).
  • Convenience of the interface and simplicity in training of new employees.
  • Reduction of time on delivery: for 2 hours.
  • Reduction of quantity of errors in a warehouse and an expedition.
