On February 22, 2019 the Mitsubishi Electric corporation announced the beginning of release of the color TFT-LCD-modules of the SVGA standard with a diagonal of 10.4 inches equipped with projective and capacity touchpads and a cover plate up to 5 millimeters thick. Such modules are intended for industrial application, including in measuring systems, metal-cutting machines, a construction equipment, agricultural machinery, industrial automatic equipment and also in payment terminals at gas station.

According to the statement of the producer, the provided equipment is designed to meet the growing demand of industrial enterprises for modules with thicker and strong cover plate which allows to manage the touchpad, without taking off gloves. Such models support multitouch technology and provide correct data entry even in case of hit of moisture on the surface of the display. Functionality of touchpads in combination with TFT-LCD-Mitsubishi Electric technologies allowed to create a wide line of modules for a big range of options of installation. Also as an option color TFT-LCD-modules of the VGA and XGA standards with a diagonal of 10.4 inches will be delivered.

Main characteristics mentioned by the producer:

    • the Strengthened cover plate (up to 5 mm thick) maintaining adverse conditions of operation;
    • the Touch ten-point control ('multitouch') guarantees information input accuracy;
    • Good controllability even during the work in gloves and in case of hit of moisture on the screen.

    • the Universal solution integrating in itself the TFT-LCD-module, the touchpad and a payment of a touch control;
    • the Optional possibility of optical gluing together for obtaining the sharp image even at bright lighting;
    • the Strengthened cover plate with an antiglare covering and special surface treatment for the purpose of protection against pollution expands a range of use of the device;

According to the producer, TFT-LCD - modules with the projective capacity touchpads AA104SL02DDE11 AA104SL12DDE11 are available since January 31, 2019.

Projective and capacity touchpad (PCAP)

The projective and capacity panel represents the device in which two perpendicular layers of the carrying-out material forming a grid are used. When giving current homogeneous electric field is created. At a finger touch or touch with other subject carrying current the field is distorted that allows a system to monitor precisely movement on the screen, including in several points ('multitouch').
