Hacking a fingerprint scanner with gum
On April 21, 2019, a Twitter user under the pseudonym decodedpixe posted a video in which he showed how to hack the Nokia 9 PureView fingerprint scanner through chewing gum packaging.
Users who left comments on this video noted that it is possible to remove the Nokia flagship phone from the lock in various ways, including another person's fingerprint, coin, leather glove, a piece of foil, etc.
HMD Global did not comment on the weak protection of the Nokia 9 PureView from hacking. Users suggested that the vulnerability is associated with an update to the Android operating system.
Nokia 9 PureView not only became the first smartphone with five cameras, but also the first in the lineup of the manufacturer received a subscreen fingerprint scanner. However, problems arose with the latter - he worked too slowly and often refused to recognize the owner. The manufacturer tried to fix it with a software update: it accelerated the operation of the fingerprint sensor, but made it too sensitive. The scanner began to respond to unregistered prints and various objects.
Until the manufacturer responded to the problem, the owners of Nokia 9 PureView should use digital or graphic code to protect personal information stored in the phone.
The optical fingerprint scanners built into the displays began to appear in smartphones in 2018. The first generation of such sensors works thanks to a small photomatrix and illuminating diodes that allow you to create a picture of the print. Using subscreen sensors, it is easier to unlock devices, but they do not work as quickly and accurately as capacitive scanners, since they allow you to create only a two-dimensional, and not three-dimensional model of the print.[1]
Announcement

Also, the novelty is able to record video in 4K with an HDR effect at a frequency of 30 k/s. The manufacturer claims that the device is aimed at photographers and takes into account their needs.
