Airpower Teaming System (military UAV)

On February 26, 2019  provided to Boeing the military unmanned aerial vehicle. The drone under the name Airpower Teaming System  allows to accompany warplanes in air and to undertake blow.

The UAV equipped with artificial intelligence technologies is intended for coordination of actions of warplanes, investigation and radio-electronic fight. Airpower Teaming System can execute departures as alone, and as a part of group of military airplanes, including the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet strike fighter, the patrol anti-submarine P-8 Poseidon airplane or the aircraft of distant radar detection and management of E-7 Wedgetail. In the maintenance mode the drone can undertake blow, protecting, the warplane with the pilot onboard.

It is very flexible, modular, multi-purpose. And price revolutionary. Possibilities of the fighter for the minimum price — the vice president and the CEO of Boeing Automotive Systems  Christine Robertson said, at the same time without having specified drone cost.

 As noted on the website of corporation, the UAV will supplement and expand possibilities of missions of the Air Force due to "smart consolidation with the existing warplanes".

Boeing declares flying range of Airpower Teaming System more than in 3700 km. The UAV has length nearly 12 meters. Other technical characteristics of the pilotless device do not reveal.

The presentation of innovation took place at the international air show in Australia. In the same country based on Airpower Teaming System also the first demonstration sample under the name Loyal Wingman will be created that can be translated as "correct conducted". Investments of the country into this project will make about $40 million. The first flights of the UAV within real tasks are planned for 2020.[1]
