On February 27, 2019 the Konica Minolta company reported that it optimized printing infrastructure at the St. Petersburg office of the Northwest Air Navigation enterprise. Project implementation allowed to unify and more than by 5 times to reduce the park of devices, to minimize costs, to lower IT department loading and also to increase the level of information security of the company.
According to the company, the Northwest Air Navigation branch is responsible for security and regularity of flights of civil aviation, improvement of routes and their equipment with radio navigational means in North-West Region. The enterprise carries out work on improvement of structure of airspace, develops routes, services means of air communication and the equipment of flights for 116 airfields and two airline hubs.
Before project completion in January, 2019 the printing park of the St. Petersburg office consisted of 85 multi-function printers of five different producers. In a work progress specialists of Konica Minolta installed 16 full-color and monochrome MFPs of A3 and A4 formats.
In addition to updating of the park of the equipment, at the enterprise the hardware and software system based on the solution SafeQ was unrolled. It provides centralized operation with printing devices and accounts of users and also helps to prepare the reporting and to set rules of printing.
Thanks to implementation of the reporting the company had an opportunity to reveal departments with the largest amount of printing. The analysis of tasks of printing allows to automate business processes and to translate expensive segments on electronic document management.
However an opportunity to control access to the MFP functions due to obligatory authorization became a key benefit of SafeQ for Northwest Air Navigation company. The system of identification distinguishes the user on the special access card, and the Follow-me function does not require a binding to the specific device and gives an opportunity to print the necessary document on the next MFP.
One of tasks which we should face every day — optimization of air routes therefore we, probably, as nobody else we understand what gain of efficiency can be received from the correct organization of processes. According to the results of the project the company is going to save 1.5 million rubles a year due to cutting of costs for purchase of supplies, maintenance, upgrade and repair of the existing equipment and also acquisition of new devices. According to the statistics, received from technical support service, for February, 2019 the number of requests on faults of a corporate system of printing was reduced by 90% that significantly reduced load of IT specialists of the organization.

Implementation of the project was complete in January, 2019. For February, 2019 the company gradually brings the old equipment out of the park in process of the termination of a resource of supplies. In the future the company is going to pass to pokopiyny printing and to optimize printing infrastructure in other regional branches of the enterprise.
