"The basis of IT" began commercial operation of the Basis WFM platform

On February 28, 2019 the company Mail.ru Group reported that "Basis of IT", the developer software for automation business processes, began commercial operation of the platform BASIS.WFM, having ported on it the WFM- a system as the Solution. The basic data warehouse in the BASIS.WFM platform is DBMS Tarantool, the developed Mail.Ru Group.

The support on Tarantool DBMS allowed the developer to implement the modern architectural concept for implementation of an expanded class of WFM solutions (WorkForce Management) and to create the platform which functionality it is easy to increase when preserving high performance and data security.

BASIS.WFM relies on a large number of "hot" data: working schedules of divisions, availability of employees on time and territorially, qualification of personnel, priority of tasks, different measuring cuts and metrics, etc. At the same time any changes in initial data should be considered by the platform instantly that all participants could see them in real time. It causes high requirements to speed and reliability of DBMS which is the cornerstone of the solution.

In Tarantool all basic and operational data are stored in memory that provides necessary performance level at any loading (to hundreds of thousands of requests per second for one instans), and limits of the processed data do not exist thanks to horizontal scalability of the solution. At the same time data are copied on a disk that together with journalizing of changes guarantees their safety. Use of stored procedures allows to process their storages given directly in the place thanks to what costs of resources decrease and the risks connected with data transmission on network are excluded. All consumers of data instantly receive notifications on changes that conforms to the requirement to data mapping in real time.
