The industrial exoskeleton of ExoChair developed with the assistance of Laboratory of robotics of Sberbank, gave support to surgeons during transactions lasting more than 12 hours. On March 11 TAdviser was reported about it by representatives of Sberbank of Russia. According to them, in Regional clinical hospital No. 2 of the city of Rostov-on-Don for the first time in the territory of Russia and Europe surgeries using an exoskeleton were performed.

ExoChair represents the passive industrial exoskeleton intended for unloading of muscles of a back and legs at performance of work in a standing position, developed by Poleznye roboty LLC with active support of robotics of Sberbank to Laboratory.

Originally in Laboratory of robotics there was an idea to use an exoskeleton for reduction of fatigue and performance improvement of work of employees whose daily duties are connected with long standing work. In process of testing of these products there was an idea to try them for non-productive fields of activity where support of a back and legs is required, in particular — in medicine.

During testing ExoChair supported as the main, and assisting surgeons during transactions of different degree of complexity, including endoscopic and laparoscopic. The general duration of transactions was about 12 hours.

According to the results of tests the industrial exoskeleton received positive assessment from surgeons, by them the essential effect of support at long transactions was mentioned over two hours.

As of March 11 development of the program of completion of ExoChair according to comments of physicians which concern more increase in comfort of use of construction is conducted.

It is the first experience of application of exoskeletons for support of surgeons in Russia and Europe, and we consider it successful. When choosing the direction of developments of our laboratories, first of all, the possibility of their practical application in bank is estimated. So there was also with an industrial exoskeleton, but a new stage of its development, as well as the new scope is extremely perspective and socially significant direction. The closest competitor of ExoChair in this sphere is in Japan, but it can only be rented, and lease exceeds the acquisition value of our development several times — Stanislav Kuznetsov, the vice chairman of the board of Sberbank told.
