KNB (Committee of national security of Kazakhstan)

The main objectives for March, 2019:

• Participation in development and implementation of state policy in the field of security of the personality, society and the state;

• Getting of prospecting information for the benefit of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

• Identification, warning and suppression of the prospecting and directed to causing damage other security of the Republic of Kazakhstan of activity of special services and organizations of the foreign states and also individuals;

• Identification, warning and suppression of terrorism and other activity directed to violent change of the constitutional system, violation of integrity and undermining security of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

• Identification, suppression, disclosure and investigation of the crimes referred by the legislation to maintaining bodies of national security;

• Providing the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, state bodies, Armed Forces, other troops and military formations of the country with government communication in peace and wartime;

• The organization of cryptographic work in state bodies, the organizations and military formations of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

• Ensuring protection and protection of frontier of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2019: Accession of Foreign Intelligence Service

In June, 2019 the President Tokayev attached Foreign Intelligence Service to Committee of national security. Thus, under the authority of KNB now investigation, counterintelligence, fight against terrorism, organized crime and corruption, protection of the state secrets and cybernetic defense.
