ELAR the Russian America created an information resource ". History, culture, diplomacy" for the MFA of Russia

On March 27, 2019 ELAR corporation announced creation of an information resource "the Russian America. History, culture, diplomacy" for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MFA of Russia). As a result of the implemented project the wide range of persons had a possibility of independent studying of history of the Russian-American relations.

The project is custom-made Historical and documentary department the MFA of Russia which activity is connected with ensuring accounting, storage, use of archive documents of the ministry, development of cooperation with foreign archives and providing foreign policy character to retrospective information.

Creation of information resources of open access is one of the most important tasks of department.

According to the associate director of department Artem Yuryevich Rudnitsky,

We work in line with openness of archives, first of all, for counteraction to attempts of falsification of story with the purpose of formation of an objective picture of events of the past. Creation of a number of information resources where archive materials on different historical events which reflect development of the relations of Russia and other countries are collected is that deposit which promotes establishing dialog of cultures. Information technologies just solve a problem of comprehensive access to a true story factual.

Website "Russian America. History, culture, diplomacy" it is devoted to the Russian historical and cultural heritage in the USA. On this resource copies of documents from Archive of foreign policy of the Russian Empire the MFA of Russia are placed. They tell about mastering by the Russian people of the North American continent, about the fate of Alaska and the Russian settlement the Fort Ross, about that support which Russia, the Russian diplomats, politicians, military and public figures gave to the United States during formation of this state and its development in the 19th century, about a contribution of prominent representatives of the Russian culture to formation of the American society. Within the project the whole complex of works on development and design of the website and its functionality, to preparation and loading of information array, providing access through the portal of the ministry and a possibility of regular filling of a resource is executed.

Performing all-humanitarian, information and educational functions, the website "Russian America" can also serve as good help in the course of expansion of changeover contacts - between people, scientific and public organizations. The relevance of it is obvious, especially taking into account present very difficult political relations of Russia and the USA.
