2019: Opening of two development centers of artificial intelligence

At the end of March, 2019 Fujifilm Medical Systems announced opening of two centers of researches and development of artificial intelligence in Tokyo. One of them received the name Fujifilm Creative AI Centre Brain(s), another — Fujifilm AI Academy.

The producer explained that the name Brain (s) comes from merge of artificial intelligence to human mind and wisdom. Fujifilm Creative AI Centre Brain(s) is created for cooperation increase with the academic institutes, and is intended to Fujifilm for support of activity of own and third-party experts in artificial intelligence, says the company.

In March, 2019 Fujifilm Medical Systems opened two development centers of artificial intelligence

Under the REiLI brand the Fujifilm company develops artificial intelligence technologies which fully supplement processes of diagnostic imaging thanks to a combination of deep learning and corporate practices in the field of image processing. By the end of March, 2019 the company develops several medical AI technologies:

  • Region Recognition. It is used for exact recognition and consecutive selection of areas of bodies, irrespective of a deviation of a form, existence or absence of a disease and conditions of visualization;

  • Computer Aided Detection reduces time for interpretation of medical images and helps to make clinical decisions radiologists;

  • Workflow Support serves for optimal arrangement of priorities during the researches, the notification about results of work of artificial intelligence and automation of the reporting of the population.
