Adobe Project Car Smarts

2019: Announcement

At the end of March, 2019 at own conference in Las Vegas the Adobe company submitted the program for diagnostics of the Project Car Smarts cars which uses the analytical Adobe Analytics platform.

Using a new product, according to developers, motorists will become more prepared before the appeal to car service on any fault. It as a result should reduce repair cost or, at least, make it more transparent.

Project Car Smarts it is possible to use as in the browser from any computer, and and in the mobile device by means of the separate application. 

The program, having connected to the special telematic device, will be able to collect extensive diagnostic information on the car. A system traces a manner of driving of the specific driver, fuel consumption, battery power, a median number of revolutions per minute, load of the motor and other parameters.

Having collected state-of-health data of the engine and rechargeable battery and having compared them with a driving manner, the program can recommend to the car owner to change management style by machine not to allow failure of certain nodes and units. Also the application will make the recommendation about replacement of spare parts if such need arises.

Besides, state-of-health data of cars in the generalized anonymous format will go to transport companies that they could trace specific problems in machines from the vehicle fleet and understand how to solve them.

The director of management of the product Adobe Analytics Colin Morris on the presentation of Project Car Smarts compared a program runtime to the tool for battery capacity assessment in iPhone and noted that the new solution "will improve to drivers idea of operation of cars".^[1]
