Astra Linux Special Edition OS is implemented in 353 educational institutions of the Republic of Crimea

On March 29, 2019 the group Astra Linux, the developer Russian of the market operating systems, announced a successful completion of implementation of OS Astra Linux Special Edition in 353 educational institutions of the Republic Crimea within the FIS project FRDO (The federal register of data of documents about education and (or) on qualification, documents on training). The project is designed and implemented telecommunication by the company "Miranda media" together with Ministry of Education, science and youth of the Republic of Crimea. The built network connects educational institutions of the Crimea at the same time and with the ministry educations of the republic, and the Federal register of data.

The regional segment for connection to FIS FRDO is constructed completely on the domestic software: to the operating system Astra Linux Special Edition release Smolensk, the protected ViPNet network and SOFTWARE for work of c electronic signature ViPNet CSP and also with use Kaspersky antivirus for Linux.

Feature of the project consists that for its implementation the Russian operating system was used. One of important pluses of this OS is compliance to requirements of the regulator in the field of data protection and forward compatibility with the certified information security tools. So personal data of pupils which get to this network are protected at all stages of passing of information. The network connects educational institutions of the Crimea with the Federal register of data. Schools, for example, enter data, about certificates, and they get to the FIS FRDO system. Owing to the fact that Astra Linux Special Edition is the multiplatform operating system in the general education organizations of the Republic of Crimea by means of thin clients about 400 standard jobs were organized. It, in turn, provided an opportunity to issue the uniform certificate on all system in general. It is difficult to revaluate the importance of the project thanks to which the break in a question of import substitution in the republic was made.
