Pasting of veins (other name: closing of veins) is a low-invasive transaction at which the gleam in a vein is closed by means of special glue. The procedure is applied at chronic venous insufficiency. The technology was invented in America in 2010, and since then perfectly proved in Europe and the USA. The technique of pasting of veins and glue carry the name VenaSeal, and developed them Medtronic — the company in the field of medical technologies.
The procedure of pasting of veins is carried out on an outpatient basis and does not require special preparation, except consultation of the phlebologist and preliminary ultrasonography of arteries and veins of the lower extremities.
Under local anesthesia the vascular surgeon does a small puncture in a leg of the patient and sets a catheter through which glue will move in the injured vein. Moving ahead on a vein, each 3 centimeters the doctor enters a portion of glue and a hand or the ultrasonography sensor puts pressure upon an affected area that glue adjoined to vein walls better.
All manipulations take about an hour, and after small rest in chamber, the patient can come back home already on the same day.
Visually the effect will be noticeable at once. As a result of this manipulation pass also painful symptoms, and the patient very quickly can return to normal life[1].
