Project date: 2019/04

On April 9, 2019 it became known that Panasonic and NEC were engaged in construction of networks of fifth generation (5G) at the plants significantly to increase production efficiency due to use of "smart" technologies.

NEC will install at the enterprises production management systems which collect data from the sensors installed on an object. Panasonic, in turn, will be engaged in deployment of the base stations of a 5G providing fast data transmission between a production equipment.

Panasonic and NEC start a 5G at the plants for hyper effective production

Panasonic began to offer clients of service of creation of "smart" factories after two testings on pilotless tractors of the image understanding system using communication 4G transfers the Nikkei edition.

Panasonic and NEC are expected demand from customers who need high-speed communication, but without risk of date leak because of use of public wireless networks.

Besides, implementation of a 5G system which can manage far off a construction equipment using visual and design data is planned.

Services of Panasonic and NEC are expected development of the concept of "smart" factory which assumes data collection using the cameras of high resolution mounted in the territory of the enterprises and which are built in helmets of employees and also different sensors on the equipment. The analysis of the collected information allows to accelerate work of production lines and to automatically adjust the number of the component parts and materials arriving on the pipeline that will provide optimum efficiency of production. For acceleration of data transmission of Panasonic and NEC build at the plants a private 5G - networks.

By April, 2019 partners are going to offer services in the Japanese market, but if projects are successful, they can extend to other countries.[1]
