Selectel donated ITMO of 40 servers

On April 15, 2019 Selectel, the provider of IT and infrastructure solutions for business, helped to upgrade educational data center of the ITMO University. The company donated to university modern high-end servers.

The ITMO university, university of Russia in the field of IT, places emphasis on studying by students of relevant technologies and carrying out scientific research in such areas as the systems of artificial intelligence, machine learning, work with Big Data and others, and widely applies digital instruments in scientific and educational process. To do it at the high level, the university needs to support the infrastructure base in the current state.

Selectel selected the servers, the most suitable for a number of the last projects of the university from a product line, and donated them to university.

works as Selectel at dynamically emerging market. With business growth we need the qualified developers, engineers, other technical and nontechnical specialists. Therefore we are interested in development of a domestic education system. The joint project with the ITMO University — an example of mutually advantageous partnership of business and the higher school.

Participation of industry partners in educational process, certainly, is its important element and positively affects level of training of students and their further employment. Our students do practical training and perform final works in Selectel under the leadership of highly qualified specialists of the company. According to the dean, transfer of forty modern servers to the university will allow to strengthen considerably material and technical resources of faculty and to expand a set of a laboratory and practical lessons for a wide range of disciplines.
