Sberbank begins to test exoskeletons on collectors

In laboratory of robotics of Sberbank the Exoatlant company started the first pilot testing of an industrial exoskeleton of Exobelt, reported in the press service of bank in April, 2019.

In Sberbank call Exobelt the first Russian industrial exoskeleton which will allow to lower load of a backbone during rise and carrying of loads, to avoid a travmatization of workers, having reduced the general fatigue and level of occupational diseases on production.

As of April the first test prototype of Exobelt is ready. The company is ready to begin the next stage of development, having started resource, functional and ergonomic tests of an exoskeleton.

The bank calculates that implementation of an exoskeleton of Exobelt will allow to reduce fatigue of the employees occupied in movement of values that will lead to performance improvement of work and decrease in quantity of possible errors and injuries.

Secret of successful application of robotics on production — an optimal sheaf between the person and the robot. Industrial exoskeletons in this sense combine the best "from two worlds" — creative and cognitive capabilities of the person amplify using the robot who the person carries on himself without loss of comfort. We accumulated some experience with industrial exoskeletons of a lower body and are ready to apply it in Exobelt tests, - Albert Yefimov, the head of laboratory of robotics of Sberbank noted.

Tests will begin in May, 2019 and about two months will last. A key task of engineers of Exoatlant at the current stage — to define requirements to performance and security of an exoskeleton of Exobelt in order that clients of the company could begin to use freely exoskeletons in the purposes in 2020.

The pilot project of Exoatlant and Sberbank will allow to get the first experience of real use of an exoskeleton in workplaces, to estimate efficiency and will form the basis of the new standard of protection of the musculoskeletal device of the person on production. It is the major step to large-scale implementation of industrial exoskeletons as new class of individual protection equipment, - say in Exoatlant.
