On April 22, 2019 the Konica Minolta company announced that the BMDG plant on production of multi-function printers and the digital printing systems of Konica Minolta placed solar panels for electricity generation into the square of 25 thousand sq.m in November, 2017. The generating power of panels was 1.8 MW. So the company could provide about 15% of necessary electricity at the expense of solar energy.
According to the company, in 2019 the platform BMDG began to receive and other volume of energy from the certified eco-friendly sources. Thus, for April, 2019 the BMDG Konica Minolta factory uses 100% of the electric power from renewable sources.
Within the long-term Eco Vision 2050 Konica Minolta program implements the concept of Carbon Minus which main objective – to reduce emissions of a carbon dioxide gas for all lifecycle of production by 80% in comparison with the level of emissions in 2005. At the same time the company involves in the nature protection initiatives also outer concerned parties: holds rounds on BMDG factory, will organize conservation seminars and also visits productions of suppliers to approve and implement joint efforts on reduction of load of the environment.
