May 17, 2019, Atos an international leader in digital transformation, announced the release of BullSequana Edge, high-performance servers for peripheral computing. This development in secure mode controls and processes - in the IoTdata immediate vicinity of their source, which ensures a high speed of operation. In addition, this server analyzes and runs applications on a Artificial intelligence real-time basis in order to instantly obtain the necessary information and make decisions based on it. With the help of the BullSequana Edge server, companies can easily solve problems such as limited bandwidth, low network connection speed, limited or unstable networks.

The BullSequana Edge server is ideal for environments where system response times are critical, including Industry 4.0, autonomous vehicles, medical systems, and retail/airport security systems, and where IoT data must be processed and analyzed in near real time.

The BullSequana Edge server for May 2019 supports 3 main usage models:

• Artificial Intelligence: Atos Edge Computer Vision - provides in-depth extraction and analysis of "distinctive features" (people, faces, emotions, behavior) to perform actions based on the results of analysis in automatic mode. This usage model supports various intelligent cameras, for example, for video surveillance, for consistent real-time operation and tracking actions without disrupting them.
• Big Data: Atos Edge Data Analytics - enables companies to optimize their operations with predictive and policy solutions. It is based on data lakes, which makes data reliable and practical.
• Atos Edge Data Container (EDC) is a universal container solution that can run on peripherals and acts as a decentralized IT system (from one server rack to an entire container data center). It can operate autonomously outside of data center environments and without the need to operate locally.
