GaussDB (DBMS)

2019: Announcement

In the middle of May, 2019 Huawei the first database management system (DMS). She received the name GaussDB and can be unrolled both in local infrastructure, and in public and private clouds. The product is focused on use in the companies from the different industries (financial, automobile, educational, logistic, etc.).

Huawei calls the product the first DBMS with the built-in functions of artificial intelligence from producer (AI-Native) and also the first corporate DBMS with support of processor architecture of ARM.

The new solution the first is implemented by artificial intelligence in complete lifecycle of distributed databases that does possible their independent operation and service, self-adjustment, self-diagnostics and selfrecovery, says the producer.

According to developers, GaussDB allows to increase setup performance more than by 60%. A part of process in  which administrators usually participate  undertakes artificial intelligence. In case of start of DBMS in actually cloud of Huawei the client will receive from the Chinese company of a custodial service of data.

In the press release it is noted that GaussDB can be useful in the field of counteraction to financial fraud and will help the financial industry to stop loss of hundreds of millions of dollars annually.

Start of GaussDB took place within the developed Huawei of AI strategy which consists in investment into basic researches and training of specialists, creation of a complete portfolio of AI products and according to all scenarios and assistance to an open global ecosystem.

Along with GaussDB the high-performance intellectual distributed Huawei FusionStorage 8.0 storage which increases efficiency of storage and  a data stream was provided.^[1]
