2019: Use for fight against dealers
At the end of May, 2019 it became known of use of the special scanner by IKEA company which shows whether really the person likes the bought thing or he wants to resell it to earn.
The device under the name (He) art Scanner is developed together with the Ogilvy Social Lab agency. The wearable gadget fixes brain impulses and heartbeat to estimate whether these or those goods were pleasant to the buyer.
(He) of art Scanner was used for sale of the limited collection of carpets "Art event 2019" for which sketches were drawn by eight modern designers among whom — the art director of the male line of Louis Vuitton Virgil Abloh and the avant-gardist Craig Green. The cost of objects reached $500.
Each person wishing to purchase these carpets was placed in the dark room in which he considered products. In case the device fixed that a certain model of a carpet is pleasant to the client, the buyer could purchase it. If the level of the fixed signals was insufficiently high, then the client was offered to pass to viewing the following options. Purchase of a thing was permitted at certain indicators of the read-out parameters.
Within the experiment of IKEA sold all carpets of all in a week. By May 27, 2019 any of them was not noticed on eBay or on other trade online platforms that can indicate efficiency (He) of art Scanner for fight against dealers. However, it is completely impossible to monitor resale of products.
IKEA "Art event 2019" releases similar limited collections since 2015. For this purpose the producer cooperates with several famous artists and designers. Earlier the limited collections of posters and figures of their crystal glass were released.[1]
