Medtronic won the contract of the Pentagon for delivery of the medical equipment for of $150 million

At the beginning of June, 2019 Medtronic won the contract worth $150 million for delivery of the radiological and visualization medical systems with the U.S. Department of Defense.

Within this transaction the Medtronic company will supply army, the fleet, the Air Force, marine corps and the related federal civil institutions with the radiological and visualization systems, their subsystems and components and also will provide services in maintenance, personnel training and fight against unforeseen situations.

The U.S. Department of Defense received in total 51 bids. The contract was signed on 5 years, the announced date of end – on June 3, 2024. At satisfactory execution of the order the contract can be prolonged for 5 years. The company undertook to perform the order in the State of Minnesota where there is a headquarters and the main production sites of the company. The volumes of deliverable services described in the contract are not disclosed.

The Pentagon not in the first buys the equipment and services of Medtronic - the American Ministry of Defence is an old partner of Medtronic. So, in 2018 the company delivered armies of the device for support of a cardiovascular system at the fixed prices for $470 million, and in 2013 already signed the delivery contract of the radiological equipment and the related components and services for $58 million. In general within 10 years the Medtronic company and the U.S. Department of Defense signed over 3000 contracts different on the term of accomplishment and volumes.

Besides, the Medtronic company cooperates with security agencies and in other countries, including in Russia. Among the Russian clients the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Internal Affairs appear.[1]
