MegaFon and the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region agreed about joint development of digital economy

On June 6, 2019 Megafon and the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region signed the agreement on interaction on creation of a digital medium in the territory of the region, within implementation of the federal program "Digital Economy".

The agreement was signed by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin and the CEO of Megafon Gevork Vermishyan during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The parties agreed about cooperation with the purpose of improvement of telecom infrastructure and implementation of the innovation projects which solve important social and economic problems of the region and lay the foundation for its further development within the state program in digitalization.

Investment volume will be more than 1.2 billion rubles in a year.

Existence of examination in development of communication networks, implementation of IoT and M2M of solutions, implementations of ICT of projects – all this allows Megafon to participate actively in the creation of infrastructure and solutions necessary for functioning of elements of the smart city", - Gevork Vermishyan, the CEO of Megafon said.

MegaFon as the active participant of ANO Tsifrovaya economika already conducts work on development of the innovative solutions in several regions of Russia. For example:

• in Innopolis "smart" counters for control of resources of housing and public utilities work. It is the Russia's first implementation project of Internet of Things in housing and public utilities based on NB-IoT technology. Besides, in this project Megafon acted as integrator and offered the customer not only support of devices of network, but also study of the special interface for tracking of indications.
• in buses of Pskov video cameras with function of face recognition and detection of the left things are installed. In addition, the passenger traffic is counted: cameras transfer information on the number of people to a bus fleet, managers have an opportunity to regulate number of buses on a route that there was no crush or that buses did not go empty.
• in Veliky Novgorod the solution in telemedicine in the "doctor-doctor" and "doctor patient" formats is tested, at the same time communication is possible in writing, in a format of audio-or video conference. Also the file sharing option, by photos, results of researches, statements and other documents is provided in the online mode.

Now the operator of digital opportunities integrates Megafon together with the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and will develop digital projects in the capital of Volga region.
