In Volgograd on the Polys platform from Kaspersky Lab took place a blockchain vote

On June 13, 2019 the Kaspersky Lab company reported what a blockchain vote took place in Volgograd on the Polys platform.

82.5 thousand people took part in electronic vote for projects of initiative budgeting in Volgograd and the Volgograd region.

In tender 209 projects, including on creation of park zones and avenues were submitted, to improvement sports and playgrounds, to repair of infrastructure and cultural facilities. The maximum number of votes were got by 74 projects. Their implementation is planned until the end of 2019.

Vote took place on the special website budget4me34.ru. On the website it was necessary to enter the phone number, to receive the SMS with the password, to enter it for login, to select the interesting area and to browse the list of possible projects. The convenience of the online platform and its adaptation under mobile phones made vote process even more available and convenient that also positively affected the number of participants. As a result from mobile devices nearly 80% of respondents voted.

We see that citizens actively joined in the program of support of local initiatives which allows them to influence improvement of public spaces, to define subjects to expenditure of budgetary funds. The task to hear opinion was set as it is possible bigger number of people therefore the decision to make vote electronic was made, the platform based on the modern technologies guaranteeing anonymity is for this purpose selected noted Dmitry Zavyalov, the vice-chairman of committee of finance of the Volgograd region, the head of department of budget policy in branches of the economy and the interbudget relations

The system developed by us helps to resolve effectively socially significant issues, allowing to involve in their discussion as the bigger number of citizens in comparison with a traditional format of vote is possible. This case showed that people are much more ready to join in process of the solution of important public issues if for this purpose it is not required to go anywhere. It is much more convenient to them to enter the voice using modern technologies.
