Implementation of Celonis Intelligent Business Cloud

On November 3, 2020 the PJSC Severstal company announced implementation of the Intelligent Business Cloud by Celonis tool which continues development of the SAP Process Mining by Celonis system in processes of management of purchases (SAP P2P) and vendor management (SAP SRM). The solution supplements earlier configured dashborda with the system of notifications using predictive analytics and a management system for key performance indicators.

For November, 2020 using SAP Process Mining by Celonis Severstal sees processes in a digital form, details them to the lowest level and has an opportunity to react quickly in real time. When using the solution it is possible to reduce costs to 15%, to minimize inefficient transactions in processes and to reveal factors of violations. Grigory Borisenko, the head of Competence center on Process Mining PwC in Russia which command helped with project implementation, noted that for October, 2020 technologies become available in cloud services that forces the companies in aspiration to development to approach a question of use of clouds more flexibly. That the cloud technology worked safely, harmonious work of many commands is necessary: from the business customer and information security, to technical architects and representatives of the supplier of a cloud solution.

For November, 2020 more than 150 people from different business divisions of Severstal use the Celonis system, and their number continues to grow.

Implementation of the digital double for optimization of purchases

On June 25, 2020 it became known that Severstal together with SAP and PwC implemented the digital double of business processes using process mining technology for optimization of purchasing activity, management of external logistics of motor transport and master data management (an institution of cards of partners and the main records of materials).

The process mining technology provides a complete picture of business processes, simplifies search of inefficient places and opportunities for optimization and automation. She helps to create the interactive digital double of real process on which it is possible to see all executed transactions and to trace interrelations between actions which were made by users. As the platform for such solution Severstal selected SAP Process Mining by Celonis. A system helps to calculate business cases and to make decisions what processes require improvement. Results of actions for optimization can be presented in the interactive reporting which is prepared in real time in the form of deshbord.

A system includes not only the preconfigured deshborda on in advance prepared scenarios of the analysis of process, but also the system of notifications using predictive analytics on the basis of models of machine learning. In particular, the forecasting model of failure of deliveries which considers over 30 parameters is developed.

Effective and transparent business processes are a good backlog for achievement of strategic objectives and implementation of digital solutions. In only 14 months through joint efforts of our internal command and PwC we managed to implement a system which allows to analyze and optimize in real time processes of purchases, vendor managements and master data. Among the Russian metallurgical companies it is the first project of such scale. We are going to scale SAP Process Mining by Celonis on other tasks, adding features for machine learning for process management in real time, - Dmitry Sakhno, the sales director of raw materials and to purchases of Severstal commented.
