2021: Ministry of Industry and Trade allocated ₽7,6 billion to create a supercomputer with Russian architecture
The Ministry of Industry and Trade allocated ₽7,6 billion to create a supercomputer with the processor architecture of NeuroMatrix, developed by the STC Module JSC. The corresponding tender became known on November 9, 2021, its winner will be selected in about a month. More details here.
2019: Announcement
On June 27, 2019, the Module Scientific and Technical Center introduced a processor for building neural networks. The presentation of the novelty was held as part of the Army-2019 exhibition.
The new chip was developed on the basis of the NeuroMatrix architecture from the STC "Module" using the ARM core for a number of functions. The created solution allows you to process "gigantic data flows" (high-quality video images, photographs), told RIA Novosti Deputy General Director for Development of the company Alexei Mokhnatkin.
According to him, processors have a wide scope of application: integration into systems for ensuring the protection of the perimeter of protected objects, "smart" sights, machine vision systems, etc.
The use of neurochip is not limited to the military sphere. It is planned to be used in civilian projects "Smart City," in medicine and unmanned vehicles.
Alexey Mokhnatkin drew attention to the fact that an optimized computing module based on the last processor is being demonstrated for the first time. At the Army-2019 exhibition, the first signal copy was shown.
The STC "Module" says that the interest in joint development of neural network software and hardware complexes for video and image processing was confirmed by the Era military technopolis. The points of contact of the two organizations were proposed to find Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov, who visited the Module stand on the first day of the exhibition, immediately after the Era technopark stand.
The development of robotics technologies and neural networks is one of the priority areas of the national program "Digital Economy." For this, in particular, you need the development of domestic "iron," which will become the basis of hardware and software complexes, RIA Novosti reports.
STC "Module" is engaged in the design of hardware and software for neural network technologies and on-board computers for the space and aviation industries.[1]
