At the end of June, 2019 it became known that the software for the crashed Boeing 737 Max airplanes was created by the Indian low-skilled programmers. For development of software the American company used outsourcing services.
According to Bloomberg with reference to employees of Boeing, because of cost reduction company management dismissed professionals and employed on their places people without necessary knowledge and experience in the space industry.
For example, as the former Boeing programmer Mark Rabin, the Indian IT company HCL Technologies, cooperating with corporation told, hired recent graduates of universities. Young specialists wrote codes with deviations from the set regulations.
According to Rabin, work on the software went slowly as required a set of approvals and corrections because of badly written code.
Employees from the Indian companies also helped to carry out flight tests of Boeing. One of former employees of HCL wrote about what at notorious model 737-Max was not carried out enough tests that led to several plane crashes
Interlocutors of news agency say that the solution Boeing to attract to work of Indians could pursue also other aims in addition to cost reduction. For example, this strategy could bring to Boeing the contract from India for purchase of military and civilian airliners of $22 billion which Americans received in January, 2017.
Assure of Boeing that the company trusted engineers from HCL development of the system of MCAS (Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System) about which connect accidents of the run JT-610 Lion Air near Jakarta in October, 2018 and the run ET302 Ethiopian Airlines near Addis Ababa in March of the 2019th.[1]
