Ural Federal University and Siemens PLM Software will cooperate in area of engineering education

On July 8, 2019 it became known that Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin (URFA) and Siemens PLM Software company signed the agreement on cooperation in the field of engineering education and engineering. Sergey Kortov and the vice president, the general manager of Siemens PLM Software in Russia and the CIS Bespalov Victor participated in a ceremony of signing the first vice rector URFA.
Within cooperation partners plan holding joint actions for formation of attractive image of engineering professions and also creation of the information and education environment of training of engineers. It is about use of the concept of complete product lifecycle allowing to integrate and to effectively apply the solutions Siemens PLM Software in educational process and scientific practical activities of higher education institution.
URFA it intends to use modern Siemens PLM Software technologies in the Engineering center of digital technologies of mechanical engineering of the university. The agreement also provides implementation of joint programs of advanced training of the engineering personnel which is turning on educational modules on development of engineering programs based on the software of Siemens.
Siemens PLM Software implements worldwide the academic GO PLM program which is directed to expansion of use in educational process of modern innovative technologies for design and product lifecycle management and to the aid of universities to reduce a gap between the training program and requirements of modern production. Participants of the program have ample opportunities for integration in international community of users of technologies Siemens for interaction with other educational institutions, exchange of training programs, the best practices in the field of teaching engineering disciplines, training in work with CADCAM//CAE and PDM- systems. For example, partnership of Siemens with society PACE (Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering Education) gives to students an opportunity to take part in implementation of the international projects of the industrial companies and to get them real experience that promotes engineering career on the termination of university. PACE advances the integrated parametrical approach affecting all aspects of product lifecycle: from its modeling, production marketing, distribution, maintenance, up to processing and utilization.
