2019: Sale of business on release of robotic endoscopes of Intuitive Surgical company

On July 15, 2019 the company Intuitive Surgical which develops robots surgeons da Vinci, announced acquisition of business on production of robotic endoscopes Scholly Fiberoptic.

The future transaction includes acquisition of production of robotic Schölly endoscopes, the line of a proivodstvo of robotics in Dentslingena (Germany), the production site in Bibertala (Germany) and the repair platform in Worcester (the State of Massachusetts, the USA), Intuitive reports. About 200 employees of Schölly who work at these platforms will have to join Intuitive Surgical within the next 18 months.

The German producer Schölly Fiberoptic is the leading player in the field of the systems of visualization for minimum invasive diagnostic and surgical applications with the headquarters in Dentslingena and one of strategic suppliers of Intuitive. The companies cooperate more than 20 years in development and production of the systems of visualization for the surgical systems. In recent years Schölly Fiberoptic developed and made several systems of visualization for the flagman surgical Intuitive da Vinci systems.

The senior vice president of Intuitive Brian Miller noted that Schölly was an important and valuable supplier of Intuitive from the very first days of existence of the company, and the transaction pozvoldit to strengthen the existing relations. According to Intuitive Surgical, the company is going to continue mutually beneficial cooperation with this supplier.

The transaction not only will allow to transfer to Intuitive several important aspects of production of a system of visualization of da Vinci, but also will help to strengthen a supply chain of Intuitive and to increase its production capacities. In turn Schölly will have an opportunity to focus on other aspects of business of visualization.[1]
