2019: Medtronic begins sales of software

On July 22, 2019 the Medtronic company announced that it signed the agreement on the beginning of sales of the software for risk assessment of the stroke developed by the Israeli company Viz.ai. New software takes out the diagnosis on the basis of assessment of tomograms, allowing to save time on additional diagnostics.

The LVO Stroke platform is intended for the analysis of results of a computer tomography and the immediate notification of medics on possible detection of a stroke. The technology was approved by regulatory bodies of the USA in February, 2018. The transaction with Fridley, Medtronic subsidiary company, will allow to place the LVO Stroke platform in all insultny centers of the USA.

The software of Viz.ai is connected to scanners of the computer tomography (CT) in hospital and if necessary notifies clinical physicians on suspicion on occlusion of large vessels within several minutes. Along with the emergency message a system sends necessary radiological pictures to the smartphone of the doctor that will allow to help patients quickly.

The Viz.ai company quickly becomes the leader in use of AI in the field of treatment of strokes. The new Viz.ai platform potentially can reduce considerably time necessary for diagnostics of patients with suspicion of a stroke, so, will allow to render the help necessary for them quicker. Medtronic will participate in improvement of software.

The research Viz.ai conducted in two medical centers showed that in 95.5% of cases the LVO Stroke platform warned the specialist earlier, than standard programs of medical care that allowed to begin treatment on average for 52 minutes earlier.

At the same time Medtronic is the world's largest company on production of medical devices and will become the ideal partner for Viz.ai which will help medical institutions to get access to advanced technologies.[1]
