Evgeny Nekrasov is an unusual student: in 14 years as a result of accident he completely lost sight and a right hand, but at the same time in accordance with general practice studies programming and artificial intelligence technologies in Far Eastern Federal University (DVFU), in parallel is trained in Austria and works on a number of the innovation projects.

Evgeny Nekrasov was born in 1998 in Primorsky Krai. Since 2017 he is a student of Far Eastern Federal University where is trained in "Software engineering and engineering of artificial intelligence". As of 2019 he is a second-year student of department of applied mathematics, mechanics, management and software.

Specializes in area of artificial intelligence, Big Data, cluster solutions, development of available interfaces and web interfaces with support of assistivny technologies for physically disabled people of sight.

And uses technologies which Evgeny mastered in practice, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Vue.js, GeactJS, Webpack, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Node.js, Debian include.

In 14 years as a result of accident Evgeny Nekrasov completely lost sight and a right hand, and has the broken sensitivity of fingers of the left hand. At the same time at the university he studies in accordance with general practice. He told TAdviser that for communications uses the smartphone in which the management system that it could be managed gestures was processed, and for reading electronic texts and messages the speech synthesizer allowing to transfer the text to the speech at very high speed is used. For this purpose Evgeny himself finished one of existing solutions based on the open source software. Gestures he selects messages from phone, and they become engrossed in reading aloud.

At the university he writes lectures on a dictophone and also gathers their some part in the normal text editor on the notebook.

One of the most important projects in which Evgeny Nekrasov participates he calls research and development of use of technologies of neural networks in prostheses of upper extremities. The student explained TAdviser that it has components of a prosthesis and its low-level management system forcing to move all mechanics. And he writes a high-level management system. The special bracelet with electromyography sensors which read out electric potentials in attempt to move with the absent hand is for this purpose used.

Considering that there is a muscle memory, the bracelet reads out these discharges, and further with them it is possible to work and build models of the neural network adjusting results of the movement of a forearm, reduction of muscles to movements of a prosthesis of a brush, Nekrasov explains. This development is conducted by a command of the university.

One more important project in which it is involved as the software engineer, - creation of a prosthesis of an eye which could replace to the person a real eye. The command in which Evgeny works is occupied with development of the special matrix working by the principle of registration of energy of photons which could synthesize impulses of a retina of a real eye to give them on a remaining balance of an optic nerve.

In addition, the student puts on himself experiments in the field of quality improvement of life due to implantation of chips to himself under skin. So, he implanted to himself an implant of a digital key for convenience of opening of electronic locks and authentication systems. So far it is used only for opening of the lock of the on-door speakerphone.

It is not really convenient to me to look for, for example, keys. The implant allows to open the lock, having just laid to it a hand, - Nekrasov explains.

Further, experimenting on itself, Nekrasov expects to expand use of chips – they can simplify considerably life and improve its quality, he is sure. Evgeny also investigates possibilities of use of such chips in digital economy. However while in this sphere there are restrictions – at the legislative level in Russia installation of chips is prohibited the person though carrying them is not forbidden, he noted in a conversation with TAdviser.

In the summer of 2019 Evgeny Nekrasov successfully passed the nomination and transfer on semi-annual training in the university of Salzburg. In Austria understanding of specialty, classical for Russia, is absent: students can select rates of which future specialty is under construction. Nekrasov told TAdviser, chtoplanirovat to select the rates corresponding to what it studies also in Russia to – connected with software engineering. They include to the mathematician, the field of programming, economy, data analysis, software development and its testing and also connected with the commercial party of a question – an output of software products to the market, promotion, work with the customer.

Evgeny Nekrasov says that he expects to get experience and knowledge which is not, most likely, in Russia, to receive communications and contacts with developers, the European companies on development of prostheses. After that he is going to return back and to apply the got experience and knowledge in projects on which works in Russia.

Speaking about the one whom Evgeny of sees in 10 years, he notes that, most likely, as well as now – the developer and the tester ready to put on itself(himself) experiments. Also he expects to open in the future the company which would be engaged in development of prostheses and software.

However the perspective plans connected with training in Europe faced risk not to come true. By preparation of documents for the visa Evgeny Nekrasov lacked means to cover the residence in Austria for the period of training.

Documents on the visa needed to be filed in the middle of August, 2019. For its receiving it was necessary to enter non-recurring costs on housing and to provide to consulate the account statement from bank about existence of means for residence in Austria. The covering of all expenses (housing, a power supply, transport and communication) on one person a month, according to the estimates of Evgeny, makes about 1 thousand euros.

According to information from Evgeny's page in VKontakte social network, the appeal to funds did not yield any results because financing is performed only on complete degree programs. Appeal to the university of Salzburg too: the university has no hostels and cannot help with accommodation. In addition, Nekrasov asked for the help in the large companies, he writes, but it did not give any effect too. According to him, "Yandex" refused to it, and others do not answer.

For financing of a trip fund raising on different online resources was organized. TAdviser drew attention of the audience to this story.

In August Evgeny Nekrasov filed documents on the visa in Moscow and received it. He reported to TAdviser that he goes to Austria on training on September 12 with the companion who also passed the nomination and transfer on semi-annual training in the university of Salzburg.

To the middle of August due to collective donations to students about 560 thousand rubles were succeeded to collect the amount. The raised funds allowed to file documents on the visa and to receive it, from them expenses on residence in Austria for the period of training were covered. For two to cover all necessary expenses, it was at that time necessary to collect about 250 more thousand rubles.

Since October 1 training at the university of Salzburg began. Evgeny Nekrasov told TAdviser that selected a number of rates on programs of a bachelor degree, including on the biometric systems, computer vision, image identification, software development, databases. Training is conducted on English and German languages.

At the same time in parallel with study abroad Evgeny continues also training in DVFU. It is going to apply further the experience got in Austria upon return to the university.
