The Center for Competence of STI Center for Technology of Distributed Registries of St. Petersburg State University is a structural unit of St. Petersburg State University, created in 2018 as part of the implementation of the National Technological Initiative state program for the development of industries that should become the basis of the world economy by 2035.
The Center's activities focus on developing new solutions based on distributed registry technology, creating links and partnerships with commercial organizations to implement their developments, creating new educational programs, legal and other expert support in the field of blockchain. Solutions and technological developments of St. Petersburg State University are used in the management of transport and warehouse logistics, the work of industrial enterprises, the energy and financial sphere, and government bodies.
With the participation of the Center, a project consortium was created, the participants of which are engaged in the promotion of blockchain technologies in Russia and the world.
Main areas of work
As of May 2022, the main areas of work of the center are:
- Development of software products using distributed registry technology (blockchain);
- Creation of educational programs and online courses;
- Training of specialists on distributed registry technology;
- Formation of stable links between the academic environment and industrial partners interested in the use of distributed registry technologies;
- Expert services and assistance in solving legal issues in the field of digitalization and application of blockchain technologies.
