2019: Experimental sample of the Visual Intelligent Control traffic light

On July 26, 2019 the Rostec company reported that the Schwabe holding created an experimental sample of the traffic light which projects on air the laser "wall" warning drivers about approach to the crosswalk at distance up to 200 meters. The barrier joins automatically or programmatically in the conditions of poor visibility. The device will help to reduce the number of road accident at regulated crosswalks.

Rostec created the fog traffic light for "city of the future"

According to the company, one of key features of the Visual Intelligent Control (VIC) traffic light – the laser block projecting in air a protecting signal for drivers. From outside it looks as ranks of parallel lines which from distance from 100 to 200 meters warn about location of road "zebra". The signal is well visible in the dark and fog.

The VIC traffic light can be equipped with different add-on modules which expand its functionality. Among them – the video analytics device with the camera, the module of a meteorological station and the ecological sensor of parameters of the environment, Wi-Fi access point and also the system of assessment of frosting of a paving – due to reflection of the sent IK-beams from a surface. Thus one object combines several elements of "the smart city" at once.
