2019: Start in serial production of linear particle accelerators of electrons for sterilization of medical products

On August 5, 2019 the Ruselectronics Holding announced State Corporation Rostec start in serial production of linear particle accelerators of the electrons intended for sterilization of medical products by splitting of DNA of pathogenic microorganisms under the influence of radiation.

Production of accelerators will organize JSC NPP Tory (Enters into Holding Ruselectronics). For project implementation the Fund of development of the industry approved to the enterprise a loan in the amount of 350 million rubles within the program of preferential crediting aimed at the development of production of hi-tech products of civil or dual purpose and also production of the component parts which do not have domestic analogs. On allocated funds it will be created and in 2020 the production line is started.

Processing by a flow of the accelerated electrons guarantees the highest degree of bacterial action of the sterilized products including volume which is unattainable when using other methods. The technology ensures safety of the reached sterility degree due to processing of products in the hermetic packagings "transparent" for radiation and microorganisms, "opaque" to penetration, at the subsequent storage. Such technology of sterilization also gives the chance to organize the flow automated line of processing of products in packed form in the conditions of factory production.

Sterilization of medical products using a flow of the accelerated electrons became one and first areas of industrial mastering of radiation technologies. In comparison by other methods (thermal, gas, chemical) only radiation methods of sterilization and disinfecting provide effective destruction of pathogenic flora. At the same time, use of radiation methods more technologically, ecologically safely and economically. Our enterprise successfully delivers industrial accelerators of electrons for defectoscopy, the systems of non-destructive testing, sterilization of food and has all necessary competences to market the equipment for processing of medical products. It is planned that accelerators will be 30% cheaper than import analogs, and the term of their service – for 20% longer, 'told Dmitry Trofimov, the CEO of JSC NPP Tory
