2019: Announcement of a system of online management of street lighting

On August 13, 2019 the Mikron company reported that it developed the IoT-device which will allow to manage city lighting far off. The technology minimizes expenses on the electric power, will simplify search of faulty lamps and will allow to include/switch off lamps and to regulate their brightness as groups, and in an individual order.

According to the company, the invention can be applied in the field of housing and public utilities and other objects of critical infrastructure and also on the industrial and agricultural enterprises, greenhouses and other systems of industrial lighting using lamps with gas discharge lamps and LED lamps to their automation and increase in efficiency.

As explained TAdviser in Micron, the solution for remote identification of lampposts, includes trackings of commissioning and service of objects:

• RFID tags of production of Micron of the ultrahigh-frequency range (UHF) for marking
• readers
• software.

The tag stores necessary information on characteristics of the marked object, date of service and amount of completed work.

On a question of in what scenarios development can be used, in the company gave the following example. A system allows a repair crew or the controller to obtain quickly data on operation of lampposts on the section assigned to them for acceptance of management decisions, including to define the list of transactions which are required to be carried out on an object.

The wireless secure radio controller works with a chip of the first production rate of Micron in standards of communication of GSM, LoRa and NB-IoT. Has the plastic protective body with high degree of protection against dust and moisture. It is important that battery power ensures functioning within ten years. The device can be installed in lamps with gas discharge lamps and LED lamps and work by means of different types of communication.

Devices are installed on sodium lamps in the body, on LED lamps - on outer side. Do not require special inclusion or switching off, activation is automatic at the first power supply on a lamp.

In use radio controllers react to changes of all set parameters of devices of lighting, data come to the centralized cloud platform and are available to processing and adoption of operational solutions online in a personal account of the operator and on the panel of the manager.
