On August 16, 2019 it became known that in the Huawei smartphones technologies of augmented reality of the St. Petersburg company Piligrim XXI will be used.
As told Fontanka in business incubator Ingria which resident is Piligrim XXI created by a startup algorithms of computer vision will appear on the flagman Huawei smartphones which will enter the market in the first quarter 2020.
It is about the Arcona platform developed in Piligrim XXI. She creates network of parks of augmented reality under the open sky. Arcona generates on the Earth's surface the global geoattached layer of augmented reality for remote placement and management of interactive content. It allows to start projects of augmented reality in an every spot on the globe.
In St. Petersburg owners of the Huawei smartphones will be able to see augmented reality at Palace Square, the Peter and Paul Fortress and St. Isaac's Square. What objects will be, the company does not report, but says that they will have rather entertaining, than advertizing character.
As the cofounder of Piligrim XXI Tatyana Chernik explained, before the Huawei phones could not work with augmented reality.
So far the Chinese company in this plan lags behind competitors, but is very interested in development of technology — for example, now creates own AR points, – she told. |
The edition notes that mobile devices from competitors of Huawei, for example, of model of Sony, Xiaomi, Asus and Samsung use for work with augmented reality the ARCore platform from Google. Apple involves for this purpose own ARKit platform.
According to Tatyana Chernik, the American sanctions pushed Huawei to search of new partners. The company develops the operating system, she does everything again therefore she "is extremely interested" in cooperation, added one founders of Piligrim XXI.[1]
