2019: Integration with NetApp Hybrid Flash Arrays

On August 20, 2019 it became known that the companies NetApp and Bosch Building Technologies published parts jointly of the developed solution in the area security.

According to the company, the Bosch Video Management System (BVMS) system uses the data obtained in real time and possibilities of AI and IoT for creation of safer world. The received result managed to achieve thanks to integration of Netapp Hybrid Flash Arrays and Bosch Video Recording Manager (VRM) which do possible the concept of storage virtualization. The Netapp operating system writes data streams from different sources directly from the camera in storage in a compact format with a high density of storage. The balance between flows of video and capacities of storage with the backup allowing to continue work even in case of refusal the hard drive is as a result created.

Criminalistic systems capabilities are complemented with capability of the device using a special algorithm to detect suspicious activity in real time. Feature of the developed joint solution is integration of Bosch Video Recording Manager (VRM) and hybrid a flash arrays of Netapp E-Series Hybrid Flash Arrays as a part of BVMS. The Netapp operating system writes a data stream directly in storage. Thanks to the system of virtualization the solution manages all disks as one big array of storage. Thus, VRM automatically balances video flows and capacity of storage and creates backup copies in such a way that a system continues to work even in case of refusal the hard drive.

The solution includes:

• technology of a compact format and high density of storage on disks on 12 TB;
• the integration with low operational complexity and the maximum data availability allowing to display workloads with high extent of detailing;
• high data availability thanks to record of two flows about cameras along with different quality which go to physically separated storage points;
• high scalability thanks to basic level of difficult environments with 200 cameras.
