Sensor-Tekh: Robin

Robin is the device using which blind people and deafblinds will be able to be guided in space with a high speed. The device lists the objects which are at distance up to 10 meters at an interval of 0.2 seconds. In addition, the clever assistant notifies on possible obstacles in a way using a vibrosignal which amplifies in process of approach.

2019: Representation of the Robin device

On August 21, 2019 the Skolkovo Foundation reported that thanks to the clever assistant to the last generation with artificial intelligence, blind people and deafblinds will be able to be guided in space with a high speed. Function of a turbopoisk allows to obtain data on surrounding objects continuously. The Robin device is created by the resident Klastera of biomedical technologies of Skolkovo Foundation Sensor-Tekh company.

The device will recognize nearly 60 objects. Among them there are animals, food, vehicles, doors, household things and many other things. The gadget prompts to the user that it is near it and at home, and on the street, including in night-time.

Literally in a second Robin can distinguish persons. Photos of people in different foreshortenings are loaded into the gadget, then the voice tag is appropriated to everyone. The user needs to guide only the device at the person, and Robin in a second will tell his name.

The device of the last generation works longer – there lasted last version for 1 hour 14 minutes, and present, thanks to installation of the second accumulator, holds a charge twice longer – two and a half hours, at the maximum level of loading.

Each user can configure the gadget under himself using a special application. For example, to change a voice or playback rate of the speech, to connect on Bluetooth of a column or earphones.

We tried to consider all wishes of our users. Our command always is in touch with those who use and test devices – blind and deafblind people, we constantly are interested in their opinion. It is really important for us that it was convenient to them and that Robin was this assistant on whom it is possible to rely in any situation. For this reason for us was to ensure essentially functioning of the device without connection to the Internet – we do not want that the convenience and safety of users depended on network in which work so often there are interruptions,

Sensor-Tekh knows everything about needs of people with a hearing disorder and sight. Therefore their technologies work, allow to feel more safely, more surely, more independently. I hope that together with Skolkovo the necessary and important Sensor-Tekh devices in 2019 will become popular and in Russia, and the world,
