Units of time in medieval Europe

The moment was medieval unit of time. In the 8th century 1 day shared for 24 hours, and 1 hour was calculated as one twelfth from time length from rising to a decline. 1 hour was divided in turn into 4 points, either 10 minutes, or 15 parts or 40 moments. Considering on average 12 sundial, one moment will be equal to one and a half minutes. Respectively, week was divided for seven days, and every day — into 96 points, 240 minutes or 960 moments.
